*** CASE-1 ***
An English learner from Indonesia said, “I eat ago, bath, new go to school”.
- What happened to him?
- What influenced him so that he produced that utterance?
- What do you call such a phenomena?
- Can you give another similar example?

*** CASE-2 ***
People in Indonesia are now familiar with the abbreviations below:
HP, VCD, DVD, Wi-Fi, UI, UII, MP3.

Before giving comments of this case, please think of the followings:
- How Indonesian people pronounce each abbreviation above?
- Do you see something unique?
- What features of language is shown in this example?

CASE 1

- In my opinion the learner doesn’t know how to arrange sentence correctly. He has a problem in grammar.

- The grammatical mistake that he made maybe because, he translate from English to Indonesian language directly without thinking about the grammar. As we know English Grammar has different structures with Bahasa Indonesia's grammar.

- This phenomena is called Interference.

- Are you ready to rock? (apakah kamu siap membatu)

Indonesian people:

HP (ha-pe)

VCD (Vi-si-di)

DVD (Di-vi-di)

UI (u i)

UII (YU-i -i)

MP3(EM PE TIGA)

- Indonesian people know UI as Universitas Indonesia and UII as Universitas Islam Indonesia because its kind of common words in Indonesia.

Yes it’s a kind of unique.

hahaha... tapi beneran lucu yang kalo bahasa Inggris di Indonesia-in asal-asalan gag pake mikirin grammarnya.
